The Electronic Art program offers a series of courses in new media art. These are

  • Art 97 (Beginning Electronic Art)
  • Art 142 (3D Computer Modeling)
  • Art 144 (Raster and Vector Imaging)*
  • Art 147 (Video Art)*
  • Art 197 (Intermediate Electronic Art)
  • Art 198 (Advanced Electronic Art).

The courses explore various approaches to digital imaging, time-based, 3D computer modeling and interactive media. Software used includes Photoshop, Corel Painter, Blender 3D, Flash and Final Cut Pro. Each class is taught within the context of new media culture and contemporary art practice.

The faculty member in this area is Rachel Clarke, rclarke@csus.edu. The Electronic Art courses are held in Mariposa 1007, a high-end Macintosh lab with software, hardware and equipment to facilitate a wide range of creative media art projects.

A new course in 3D computer animation will be offered in spring 2008 (check this site again soon for further details.)
